AAPPAC online discussion to explore planning and delivery of major performing arts venues
Performing arts leaders from Hong Kong and Singapore will share experience of major venue development projects in the latest online edition of the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres’ (AAPPAC) _Let’s Talk!_ series.
The forthcoming _Let’s Talk!_ Fireside Chat will examine how performing arts organisations balance artistic vision, budgets and stakeholder expectations when planning and delivering major capital projects.
The online discussion brings together Frank Yeung, Head of Theatre Planning, Performing Arts at West Kowloon Cultural District (WestK), and Kenny Wong, former Head of Technical Theatre at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in Singapore. The session will be moderated by Paul Tam, Executive Director, Performing Arts at WestK.
Drawing on recent venue development projects across the Asia-Pacific region, the speakers will consider issues including planning and design, stakeholder engagement and project delivery, with a particular focus on the practical decisions involved in creating and developing performing arts infrastructure.
The session will also include a preview of the programme for the AAPPAC 2026 Hong Kong Conference, which takes place at West Kowloon Cultural District from 6–9 October under the theme _The Next Act: Shaping the Future_.
AAPPAC launched its _Let’s Talk!_ virtual conversation series in July 2020, initially as a forum for arts organisations across the region to discuss the impact of the pandemic. It has since developed into an ongoing programme addressing issues facing performing arts centres and cultural organisations across Asia-Pacific.
